Memories from recent Petoskey vacation

This was quick sketch of memory of church in France.

Our faithful camper!

our day at Mackinac Island

Leland, Mi - "Fishtown"

Glen Arbor, Mi

My journalling explains most of these paintings.  It was a wonderful 10 day camping trip.  I tried to capture my favorite memories of the places we visited.  Some of the earliest ones were from a sketchbook painting class I took with Catherine Carey at Bayview.  She's who really got me started several years ago with keeping a watercolor sketchbook.

Just pen and water... and sometimes paint

The dog was from a statue that reminded me so much of our beloved Cassie - someday I'll try to paint her but my tears will be the water.  We really miss her!

Imaginary Visit to Japanese Garden

These are from one of Laure Ferlita's Imaginary Trips - great fun and learning.

Aschaffenburg Castle, Germany

Now I'm trying to paint a bit wetter and faster.  This is 7x11 and one of the castles we visited.

Delphiniums

Today I visited the botanical gardens to see what's bloomed.  It was very hot so I painted very quickly but enjoyed their beauty.

Camp Crystal flowers

This one I did several years ago at Camp Crystal where several artists were painting outdoors.  These were the local flowers.  Someone suggested that I should put some writing in the background behind the flowers.  I didn't want to take away from the crisp delicate flowers.  What do you think?

Here are most of my paintings over the years.  Susan Telford asked for it - I hope it doesn't overload you.  Painting really gives my joy and I'm grateful for getting the chance to learn and grow in it.  Besides it's lots of fun!!!
